Advancing the age of your bonsai

!±8± Advancing the age of your bonsai

One of the most important aspects of your bonsai is the age. Not the actual age of the bonsai, but what age your bonsai appears to be. As far as aesthetics are concerned, it is important that your bonsai much older than it looks in reality. If you are able to create the appearance of a pine 500 years with 5 years of bonsai, then you are certainly respected and envied by most of your colleagues.

If you try to age your bonsai you want certainProperties, such as: narrow, narrow leaves, bark with fractures, branches that start with square corners and a curve (as opposed to sharp contrast) crown. From a bonsai plant, which already have some or all of these attributes - is the fastest way, but they have their drawbacks - such as old Yamadori. You need heavy cutting and carving, to hide the removal of heavy branches and reduce the size of conduct. This is incredibly difficult to do well, and if done incorrectly, cannever be solved. The fact that the new branches grown and trained bonsai artist to appear younger in order to further complicate the issue.

There are some techniques to use to improve our bonsai apparent age, although it may. Some take longer than others to have an effect.

First, you need to make sure you understand what is referred to when describing the appearance of age in bonsai. These can be divided into five main areas:

    1 Adomed crown

2 The attitude of the knots

    Branch 3 Branch angle

4 'Cloud' comes out significantly, separate

    5 Bark texture elderly

    The Bonsai CROWN

When you have to look at the trees that are hundreds of years, it turns out that they all have one thing in common: a domed crown. To create a domed crown for your bonsai, you must have the concept of "wiring a new leader." The leader should have been cultivated and shaped, and the hull wasdeveloped. Once the stem has ended all thoughts of the leader to be abandoned. The tip of the bonsai should be thought of as an apex, the central office. It 'the same as any other branch should be built, but the members are supported from underneath the approach apical branch structure instead of a page.

    BONSAI BRANCH POISE

The principles of positioning arm are relatively easy to follow, but is often compromised at the beginning, like to run for a finished painting. The branches are usually old leaves and horizontal branches of old conifers tend to sweep down - in the simplified world of bonsai. You must remember that the branches overhanging no impression of age. Most artists do not realize this until years later when the branches are set to change, and too often. The key to bonsai is the entertainment branch of the branches do from the beginning.

    BRANCH ANGLE branching

Some bonsai are bonsai and some are fine branchingbranching very well. A broom style bonsai may well packaged million, are reproduced in miniature, looks well developed and mature, but never seem old. It's not just that kind of image. Thus the ramifications of even a bonsai look old, but the way in which the branch is branch. Drama conical, acute angles, switch-back, these are all signs of age bonsai. Limiting short shoots bearing foliage on areas lacking vegetative side shoots grow from thinPart of the limbs, and short distances between the ends and forks also contribute. Ancient trees have branches form a triangular frame, but stressed suggestions. These branches should be pruned as soon as possible. Each time, the crop or if you have to tie your bonsai these points. No matter what age or stage of development of your bonsai, there is always room for improvement.

    LEAF CLOUDS

Mature foliage of a bonsai can beWithout the participation of appropriate mass. As the trees reach a higher age, the leaves become isolated and scattered the crowd. The individual "clouds" will begin to fragment, it seems there are several smaller clouds. Take your time, your well-developed and created for the study of bonsai. Do you think improving the removal of one or two branches or even thinning of the clouds to fragment them is the image and the apparent age of bonsai?

    Bark texture

The most valuable part of anyBonsai is certainly mature bark textures. Without it, some seem to mature bonsai. There are some exceptions, such as maples. Taxus, Fagus, etc., because the bark is smooth throughout the tree of life. Most species, however, is a characteristic of mature bark as they mature, get a nickel or jagged structure. Some, like Platanus pseudocydonia and have bark that peels off in patches, revealing the colors of pink, beige and green. To peel, Betula and Prunus species, most of all their bark,Display of colorful layers.
